The design of the Pilot 44 is based on the English pilot boats. It has resulted in a sturdy and seaworthy motor yacht suitable for sea voyages. The vertical clearance of 3.15 m also makes trips through Europe possible. In short, the Pilot 44 covers an enormous sailing area. The yard's slogan at the time was: 'We are building a motor yacht that can go inland to the south of France and back out again'.

The very sophisticated (read optimal) layout combined with double glazing and central heating makes this Pilot 44 extremely suitable for a long stay on board.

On this Pilot 44, the weaknesses regarding the tanks have been resolved; For example, the steel waste water tank has been replaced by a custom-made plastic tank and all sanitary hoses have been renewed.

The underwater hull was blasted in 2016. In 2019 the hull was sprayed by Bonsink Yachtpainters in Zwartsluis.

This Pilot 44 is stored in a hall every winter and is in good condition and ready to leave.
